Congratulations and welcome to our newest Helmsmen Toastmasters – Beverly Clymer and Kelly Craft!

Congratulations to Yash Sinha! Yash is the winner of today’s Helmsmen Toastmasters International Speech Contest AND the Evaluation Contest. He will represent us at the Area 11 Contest to be Wednesday, April 4, 2018, 5-8pm in the SAF/FM Conference Room, 4E983. Please join us as we gather to support Yash!

Business:

1. SAVE THE DATES: Speech Contest Time! Just a few save the dates for the Spring Evaluation and International Speech Contests: Apr 4th (Area 11 Contest), Apr 19th (Division A Contest) and weekend of May 4th & 5th (District 27 Contest). Visit http://www.d27tm.org for additional information on the District 27 Spring Conference.

2. Club Dues! Please bring your dues to the meeting or make arrangements to pay Carl Sabath, Club Treasurer. Membership Dues of $50 for current members is due in March for the April-September 2018 period. We want to ensure we meet our club goal to submit dues to TM.org on time. During the April 5th meeting or between meetings, you can also provide your dues to Elizabeth Femrite or Herman Raybon.

Also, due to the fact that there is also another Helmsmen Club in Texas, the group name will have to have a different one to prevent confusion. Here are some suggestions, Helmsmen Pentagon Toastmasters, Helmsmen DC Toastmasters, Helmsmen DC Toastmasters Club 2412 or Helmsmen Pentagon Toastmasters Club 2412. Please send Randy an email to see which one you like the most and/or if you have any other suggestions.

Congratulate to Herman Raybon, Randy Estrella and Carl Sabath for attending today despite the weather.

Business:

1. Speech Contest Time! The International Speech Contest and Evaluation Contest is next week on March 29, 2018 and Herman Raybon is the Contest Master. He will need help and support to make the contest a success.
Step up to be a contestant or help out in sending the best Helmsmen TM to the International Speech and Evaluation contests.

We need speaker participants as well as evaluator contestants. We also need judges, timers, ballot counters, and others. The winner of each contest competes in the Area 11 contest on 4 April, and then to Division A competition April 19, 2018. If you have questions, contact the Contest Master or one of the club officers.

2. Club Dues! Please bring your dues to the meeting or make arrangements to pay Carl Sabath, club treasurer. Membership Dues of $50 for current members is due in March for the April-September 2018 period. We want to ensure we meet our club goal to submit dues to TM.org on time.
