Congratulations to Yash Sinha, who placed 2nd in the Area 11 Evaluation Contest and 3rd in the International Speech Contest!

Congratulations to Randy Estrella for being our Toastmaster of the Day today with his theme “Habits” and expanding on Steven Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

1. SAVE THE DATES: Speech Contest Time! Just a few save the dates for the Spring Evaluation and International Speech Contests: Apr 19th (Division A Contest) and weekend of May 4th & 5th (District 27 Contest). Visit for additional information on the District 27 Spring Conference.

2. Club Dues! Thanks everyone for paying dues. We have a few folks to reach out to but really appreciate your assistance.

3. TMOD Schedule: Please confirm with Lillian Wilkinson Helmsmen, Club VP-Education:
12 Apr Ricardo Cedeno
19 Apr Damita Zweiback
26 Apr Kim Winborne

4. Please assist Randy Estrella, our VP-Public Relations as he works to increase our social media presence:

Randy requests that you provide your Facebook username or email to start adding you to the Facebook page. First Randy will send you a request to friend you and then he’ll be able to add you to the group. Also, due to the fact that there is also another Helmsmen Club in Texas, the group name will have to have a different one to prevent confusion. Here are some suggestions, Helmsmen Pentagon Toastmasters, Helmsmen DC Toastmasters, Helmsmen DC Toastmasters Club 2412 or Helmsmen Pentagon Toastmasters Club 2412. Please send Randy an email to see which one you like the most and/or if you have any other suggestions.

He looks forward to your responses as well as your Facebook username.

Also – If you need help creating a Facebook page and/or take selfies to post them, please let Randy know.

Roles today were as follows:

TM of the Day – Herman Raybon, Jr.

Opening – Carl Sabath

Word of the Day – Kelly Craft, with the word, CONFABULATE, a verb, meaning to chat.

Grammarian and Ah Counter – Herman Raybon

Timer – Forté Ward

Ballot Counter – Herman Raybon

Listener – Kelly Craft

Tip of the Day – Randy Estrella

Table Topics Master – Forté Ward

Table Topics Speakers – Kelly Craft, Carl Sabath, Damita Zweiback and Herman Raybon

Reminder, you may still be on the “Hot Seat” for last minute changes. Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in! You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, and Table Topics Master, Timer, and many of the other duties. During or immediately following the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program — The more we do as individuals, the more goals our Club achieves. If you go to Club Central and go to Distinguished Club Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for Helmsmen Toastmasters Club

Happy Speaking!!
…Carl Sabath
