Congratulations and welcome to our newest Helmsmen Toastmasters – Beverly Clymer and Kelly Craft!

Congratulations to Yash Sinha! Yash is the winner of today’s Helmsmen Toastmasters International Speech Contest AND the Evaluation Contest. He will represent us at the Area 11 Contest to be Wednesday, April 4, 2018, 5-8pm in the SAF/FM Conference Room, 4E983. Please join us as we gather to support Yash!

Business:

1. SAVE THE DATES: Speech Contest Time! Just a few save the dates for the Spring Evaluation and International Speech Contests: Apr 4th (Area 11 Contest), Apr 19th (Division A Contest) and weekend of May 4th & 5th (District 27 Contest). Visit http://www.d27tm.org for additional information on the District 27 Spring Conference.

2. Club Dues! Please bring your dues to the meeting or make arrangements to pay Carl Sabath, Club Treasurer. Membership Dues of $50 for current members is due in March for the April-September 2018 period. We want to ensure we meet our club goal to submit dues to TM.org on time. During the April 5th meeting or between meetings, you can also provide your dues to Elizabeth Femrite or Herman Raybon.

3. TMOD Schedule: Please confirm with Lillian Wilkinson Helmsmen, Club VP-Education:
5 Apr Randy Estrella
12 Apr Ricardo Cedeno
19 Apr Damita Zweiback
26 Apr Kim Winborne

4. Please assist Randy Estrella, our VP-Public Relations as he works to increase our social media presence:

Randy requests that you provide your Facebook username or email to start adding you to the Facebook page. First Randy will send you a request to friend you and then he’ll be able to add you to the group. Also, due to the fact that there is also another Helmsmen Club in Texas, the group name will have to have a different one to prevent confusion. Here are some suggestions, Helmsmen Pentagon Toastmasters, Helmsmen DC Toastmasters, Helmsmen DC Toastmasters Club 2412 or Helmsmen Pentagon Toastmasters Club 2412. Please send Randy an email to see which one you like the most and/or if you have any other suggestions.

He looks forward to your responses as well as your Facebook username.

Also – If you need help creating a Facebook page and/or take selfies to post them, please let Randy know.

Reminder, you may still be on the “Hot Seat” for last minute changes. Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in! You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, and Table Topics Master, Timer, and many of the other duties. During or immediately following the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program — The more we do as individuals, the more goals our Club achieves. If you go to Club Central and go to Distinguished Club Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for Helmsmen Toastmasters Club
