Minutes for Meeting 2917, Helmsmen Toastmasters Club 2412, Thursday February 22, 2018

Welcome Guests Cigrid Lopez, Matt Smith, and Julian Stamps! We enjoyed your participation in the meeting and extend an invitation to join our club.

Congratulate Carmita Cooke our TMoD with her theme “Pictionary!”


1. Speech Contest Time! The International Speech Contest and Evaluation Contest is fast approaching. Our club contest date is 22 March 2018. We will have both contests on one date. We need speaker participants as well as evaluator contestants. We also need a Contest Master (similar to Toastmaster of the Day), we need judges, timers, ballot counters, and others. See attached Contest Rule Book for participation. he Area 11 contest is 4 April. Division A contest is April 19, 2018. If you have questions, contact one of the club officers (listed on the left side of the agenda).

2. Club Dues! Please bring your dues to the meeting or make arrangements to pay Carl Sabath, club treasurer. Membership Dues of $50 for current members is due in March for the April-September 2018 period. We want to ensure we meet our club goal to submit dues to on time.

Reminder, you may still be on the “Hot Seat” for last minute changes. Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in! You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, and Table Topics Master, Timer, and many of the other duties. During or immediately following the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in your leadership book.
