Running HTM’s 2016 International Speech and Evaluation Contests.

Congratulate Eduardo “Eddie” Osorio for becoming a member and Yash Sinha for returning to Helmsmen Toastmasters!

Thank you Audrey Britton for being our guest today! We hope you will join us as a member for more learning and fun!

Congratulate Kimberly Pollard and her team — Forté Ward, Kim Winborne, Carrie Devorah and Carl Sabath — for running the AFPEC HTM Demo meeting last Friday!!

Business:

1. Next week, Thursday, March 3, Travis Herbranson will be our TM of the Day! His theme will be “Slow Down”

2. FINAL TLI — Let’s meet the Officer Training Goal, Club Officers (and aspiring
leaders!) – Plan to attend a Toastmasters Leadership Institute session in
January or February so the club can get credit for having completed goal 9
of the Distinguished Club Plan and so that you can get credit for a
leadership award! (For more information, go to the District 27 website at
d27tm.org or neighboring District websites District 29, District 18,
District 36 for more information). Reminder Training ends 29 February.

3. Note that the Area 11 Contests will be March 9th at the Pentagon, Rm 4E983 and
Support Yash Sinha and Ernie Davis as the compete at the Area contest!

Division A Contest will be April 9th. More to follow.

4. District 27 Conference to be held May 6-7, Holiday Inn, Solomons, MD.
Register online for Early Bird specials. Register at d27tm.org. Early Bird special ending soon.

5. TM International Convention, August 17-20, Marquis Hotel, Washington,
DC. Registration will start in April.

7. Dues!! We are off to a running start — congratulate
Daniel Galarza, the first in the gate with a slam dunk! Also Thank you Victor Gonzalez and Herman Raybon as well!

Reminder: It’s that time again. The treasurer reminds you that March 1 he will start collecting dues.
Semiannual dues is due for those renewing their memberships for April- September. Dues is $45.
Reminder that $36 goes to TM International and $9 goes to Helmsmen TM for supplies, holiday party, etc.

(Those who recently joined, your membership covers you from when you joined through March 31; this reminder is for membership dues which covers 1 Apr – 30 September 2016.)

Reminder, you may still be on the “Hot Seat” for last minute changes. Things
change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM of the
Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in! You can
get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, and Table Topics
Master, Timer, and many of the other duties. During or immediately following
the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in
your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program — The more we do as individuals, the more goals
our Club achieves. If you go to Club Central and go to Distinguished Club
Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for
Helmsmen Toastmasters Club
