Thank you guests for joining us today!

Thank you Audrey Britton, Eddie Osorio and Stephanie Pettway for being our
guests today!

We hope you will join us as members for more learning and fun!

Business:

1. Steven Coy’s induction ceremony was held today!

2. Welcome newest member who joined today, Victor Gonzales!

3. We need members to help during the Demo meeting on Friday 19 Feb at
1300, Kimberly Pollard is the event point of contact.
Club Contest will be held during club meeting on Thursday 25 Feb 2016. We
need speakers, evaluators and other roles.
Please send contest rules with minutes

4. Next week, February 18, the TMoD will be Jerrick Alexander for Meeting
2818.

6. Let’s meet the Officer Training Goal, Club Officers (and aspiring
leaders!) – Plan to attend a Toastmasters Leadership Institute session in
January or February so the club can get credit for having completed goal 9
of the Distinguished Club Plan and so that you can get credit for a
leadership award! (For more information, go to the District 27 website at
d27tm.org or neighboring District websites District 29, District 18,
District 36 for more information). Reminder Training ends 29 February.

7. Contests are coming!. Please consider entering the International Speech
Contest (Minimum of 6 speeches required) and the Evaluation Contest. More
to follow but we would love to see you on the stage at the TM International
Convention being held in DC this August. Herman Raybon reminds members that
now is the time to start planning their speeches if they wish to compete.

Even if not a contestant, we will need judges, ballot counters, timers,
sergeant at arms to make sure we send the best contestants to the Area 11
Contests!

Possible Club Contest Dates: February 25th/ March 3rd.

8. Note that the Area 11 Contests will be March 9th at the Pentagon and the
Division A Contest will be April 9th. More to follow.

5. District 27 Conference to be held May 6-7, Holiday Inn, Solomons, MD.
Register online for Early Bird specials.

6. TM International Convention, August 17-20, Marquis Hotel, Washington,
DC. Registration will start in April.

7. Note for Feb 11 Meeting ONLY. Due to PLCC Conference Scheduling. Our
meeting on February 11 will need to end by 8:30am. The management thanks
you.

Reminder, you may still be on the “Hot Seat” for last minute changes. Things
change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM of the
Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in! You can
get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, and Table Topics
Master, Timer, and many of the other duties. During or immediately following
the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in
your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program — The more we do as individuals, the more goals
our Club achieves. If you go to Club Central and go to Distinguished Club
Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for
Helmsmen Toastmasters Club
