Good afternoon!

Welcome back Daniel Galarza! Our guest for the meeting.

Business:

1. Contest News!

–We will have our club contest on Thursday 17 September 2015. We need
contestants!! Please contact the club officers of your interest.

— Table Topics contest
— Humorous Speech contest

–Attached is the Contest Rule Book. To be qualified you must be a
Toastmaster in good standing, which means your dues are paid in September.

Forte Ward our club President will be sending more information in a
separate announcement.

The winner from our club contest will compete in the Area 11 Contest to be
held Tuesday, September 29th. If you have access to a conference room for
30 folks, please let Herman Raybon know.

Division A Contest — TBD

District 27 Conference will be held Saturday, November 14th in Rosslyn.

2. Renewal Dues!

— Carl Sabath the club treasurer is collecting dues. If you are unable
to get your dues to Carl during the club meeting (he is in the Mark
Center),
please contact Elizabeth Femrite or Herman Raybon, Jr., to make
arrangements to meet (in the building).

Elizabeth Femrite was our Timer!

Kim Winborne was our Listener!

Sheila Heyward-Snipes was our Ballot Counter!

Jerrick Alexander was our Tipster of the Day!

Lillian Wilkinson was our Table Topics Master

Kimberly Pollard was our Master Evaluator!

Congratulate Herman Raybon with his speech “A Day in the Life of a Marine
Corps Recruit”, a contest preparation speech which was judged by Andrew
Clark and Jerrick Alexander

Congratulate Table Topic Speakers: Sheila Heyward-Snipes, Kimberly
Pollard, Andrew Clark, and Kim Winborne

Winners:

Best Table Topic speaker was Andrea Clark!!

Best Evaluator was Andrea Clark!!

Herman Raybon was our closer!

It is the end of summer season, you may still be on the “Hot Seat” for last
minute changes. Things change often, so when you are ready to give your
speech, let the TM of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can
always fit you in! You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day,
Evaluator, and Table Topics Master, Timer, and many of the other duties.
During or immediately following the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to
provide a small evaluation in your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program — The more we do as individuals, the more goals
our Club achieves. If you go to Club Central and go to Distinguished Club
Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for
Helmsmen Toastmasters Club
