Minutes for Meeting 2782, Helmsmen Toastmasters Club 2412, Thursday May 14,

Congratulations to Kim Winborne for becoming an official Helmsmen!

Business:

1. Damien Butler, Past President of Club 2412 sends his regards. Damien is
currently teaching ROTC at Eastern Michigan University.

2. Next week Herman Raybon, Jr. is bringing the contest winner from the
Spring Conference– please attend and show your support!!

3. Lillian passed out a sign-up sheet for future roles. You can also fill
out roles in Easy-Speak.

4. Officer Elections are approaching! We need to elect new officers in
June. If you are interest in holding a position, please contact Annette
Sanks or any one of the current officers.

Description of officer positions:

President
–As president, you are responsible for providing the supportive club
environment members need to fulfill their self-development goals, making
sure that members benefit from the Toastmasters educational program, and
helping the club recruit new members and retain current ones.

Vice President Education
–As vice president education, you are responsible for providing and
maintaining the positive environment and the programs through which members
can learn and grow. If you do your job well, your club will have satisfied
members and will continue to grow.

Vice President Membership
–As vice president membership, you are responsible for building membership
and ensuring a strong membership base by satisfying the needs of all
members. Your efforts contribute to the success of the club.

–Vice President Public Relations
As vice president public relations, you are responsible for coordinating an
active public relations and publicity program. Your job is vital to the
growth and success of the club; your efforts help to attract new members.

–Treasurer
As treasurer, you are responsible for keeping clear and accurate financial
records of club business and for seeing that the club remains financially
stable.

–Secretary
As secretary, you are responsible for keeping clear and accurate records of
club business, including membership records and correspondence with
Toastmasters International’s World Headquarters and others.

–Sergeant at Arms
As the sergeant at arms, you are responsible for maintaining club
properties, arranging the meeting room and welcoming members and guests at
each meeting.

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot Seat” for last minute changes.
Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM
of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in!
You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, and Table
Topics Master, Timer, and many of the other duties. During or immediately
following the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small
evaluation in your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program — The more we do as individuals, the more goals
our Club achieves. If you go to Club Central and go to Distinguished Club
Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for
Helmsmen Toastmasters Club
