Minutes for Meeting 2774, Helmsmen Toastmasters Club 2412, Thursday, 19
March 2015

Welcome esteemed guests: Jason Adams, Michael Dezort, and Kim Winborne !!

Business:
1. Elizabeth Femrite noted that the Sergeant-at-Arms Jerrick Alexander
opened this meeting and will continue to do so in the future.

2. Herman Raybon congratulated Kimberly Scott for her participation in the
District Contest and noted that Kim will be the model speaker for the next
contest!
Herman also congratulated Patrick Massenburg for winning 2nd place
And said that if the winner cannot participate in the next contest, Patrick
will
take his place. Herman encouraged everyone to attend the upcoming contest.

The Division Spring Conference will hold the Evaluation Contest on Friday
night May 1 and the International Speaking Contest will be held on Saturday
May 2.
The Conference will take place at the Crystal City Marriott.

3. Carl Sabath reminded everyone that Toastmaster DUES should be paid this
month.

4. Lillian passed around a sign-up sheet for roles for the next three
meetings.

Roles:

Jerrick Alexander and Annette Sanks were Presiding Officers!

Jerrick Alexander was our Opener!

Elizabeth Femrite was our Toastmaster of the Day with the theme: “Free
Speech!”

Jason Adams was the Wordsmith with the word of the
day: “heinous”, (adjective) atrociously bad; strongly objectionable

Travis Herbranson was our Grammarian

Carl Sabath was our Timer!

Michael Dezort was our Listener!

Kimberly Winborne was our Ballot Counter!

Annika L’Ecuyer was our AH-counter!

Lillian Wilkinson was our Tipster!

Jerrick Alexander was our Closer!

Trudie Root was our Table Topics Master!

Kimberly Scott was our Master Evaluator!

Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM
of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in!
You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, and Table
Topics Master, Timer, and many of the other duties. During or immediately
following the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small
evaluation in your leadership book.
