Information on the Area and Division contests are below.

A BIG thank you to all our participants and judges, time keepers, ballot
counters for making the Spring contest a success!


1) March 17, 5:30-8pm – Support our Helmsmen Toastmasters International
Speech Contestant Patrick Massenburg and Evaluation Contestant Kimberly
Scott. We will assemble in Rosslyn for the Area 11 International Speech
and Evaluation, 1700 N. Moore St (Metro Bldg), Ste 830, Arlington, VA 22209
see attachment for additional directions for the contest.

2) March is contest time and it is also Dues Time — Renewing members pay
$45 for April – September 2015; Feel free to pay your dues to Carl at the
contest or outside the meeting time to Elizabeth Femrite or Herman Raybon at
a mutually convenient time.

3) April 14 – Division A Contests – 5:30-8pm – 1700 N. Moore St (Metro
Bldg), Ste 830, Arlington, VA 22209. We will have a field trip to the
Division contest.

5) May 1st/2nd – District 27 Spring Conference – Crystal City Mariott –
Wash Reagan National Airport, 1999 Jefferson-Davis Hwy, Arlington, VA —
Friday May 1st – 5:30pm -8:30pm — includes Evaluation Contest; Saturady
May 2nd – 8am – 5pm includes the International Speech —see information and
tickets on website.

Getting to the Area and Division contests:

If coming by other than metro
1700 N. Moore St. occupies about a half a city block bordering Wilson Blvd.,
Fort Myer Dr., and N. Moore St. in downtown Rosslyn.
1. Enter building from Wilson Blvd., Fort Myer Dr. or N. Moore St.
2. For Wilson entrance, elevators are about 75 feet on the left (ATMs
will be on right); for the Fort Myer entrance (by the Café), the elevators
are about 30 feet straight ahead; and for the N. Moore entrance, the
elevators are about 15 feet straight ahead.
3. Take elevators to 8th floor.
4. Signs will direct you to room 830. There will be a Toastmasters
placard outside the room.

Coming from Rosslyn metro – escalators
1. At top of escalators, go to turnstiles on the left.
2. Turn left after exiting turnstiles.
3. Almost immediately on the right there is a short flight of stairs to
the building (double glass doors), which you go up.
4. After entering the building, go around the escalators (Panera will
be on left) and go through glass doors straight ahead.
5. Elevators are on the right.
6. Take elevators to 8th floor. Signs will direct you to room 830.
There will be a Toastmasters placard outside the room.

Coming from Rosslyn metro – elevators
1. After exiting metro elevators, cross N. Moore St. (the Rosslyn bus
depot occupies entire block).
2. Turn left (towards Wilson Blvd., Boeing Building).
3. The N. Moore St. entrance will be in between bus depot and Wilson
4. After entering the building, walk straight to elevators and go to
8th floor (room 830).


There is free street parking around the building/area. There are two
garages – 1550 & 1555 Wilson Blvd. – that have $5.00 evening rate parking.
Be aware that they may only take credit cards, so please be prepared.

If parking at 1550 or 1555 Wilson Blvd., walk down Wilson Blvd. (hill),
staying on the left side of the street, until you reach Ft. Myer Dr. The
building is on the northeast corner of Wilson Blvd. and Fort Myer Dr. After
crossing the intersection, you can enter the building at Wilson Blvd.
(between Fort Myer Dr. and N. Moore St.).
