Minutes for Meeting 2771, Helmsmen Toastmasters Club 2412, Thursday, 12
February 2015

Welcome new club members Aundrea Veney and John Cheatham !!

Business:

1. Carl Sabath asked everyone to start thinking about the club contests for
speaking and evaluation coming up soon. The evaluation contest will be 26
February and the international speaking contest will be 5 March.

2. Herman Raybon stressed the Division Spring Conference will hold the
evaluation contest Friday night May 1 and the international speaking contest
on Saturday May 2.

3. Herman Raybon also mentioned that the Division A Governor position will
be up for election– a replacement is needed.

4. Lillian asked for a Model Speaker for the upcoming demo meeting and
Trudie Root volunteered.

Roles:

Lillian Wilkinson was our Presiding Officer!

Herman Raybon was our Opener!

John Durish was our Toastmaster of the Day with the theme: “Chasing Away
Winter!”

Elizabeth Femrite was the Wordsmith with the word of the
day: “tenacious”, (adjective) holding fast

Carl Sabath was our Grammarian!

Trudie Root was our Timer!

Herman Raybon was our Listener!

Lillian Wilkinson was our Ballot Counter!

Aundrea Veney was our AH-counter!

Lillian Wilkinson was our Tipster!

Herman Raybon was our Closer!

Jerrick Alexander was our Table Topics Master!

Herman Raybon was our Master Evaluator!

Congratulate John Harms, Speaker 1, with his speech “Understanding the
Numbers!”, Advanced Series Manual, Speaking to Inform, Project #1, The
Speech to Inform;

Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM
of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in!
You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, and Table
Topics Master, Timer, and many of the other duties. During or immediately
following the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small
evaluation in your leadership book.
