Welcome esteemed guest Aundrea Veney — we hope you will come again soon!

Business:

1. Repeat: TLI season has begun and club officers (and
other members as interested) should attend any of the TLI trainings that are
offered. An updated list is attached.

Division A will have their TLI on 17 January 2015 at 0830 at Our Lady Queen
of Peace Church, 2700 19th Street South, Arlington, VA 22204.

4. Carl Sabath reminded everyone that we were invited to host a table this
Friday at the Di Lorenzo Heath Clinic Prosperity Fair, a fair dedicated to
improve careers, skills, leadership of the folks that work at the Clinic.
Time is Friday, January 16, 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm. This
will be a joint venture with the Legacy TM club. A roster has been prepared
of Toastmaster volunteers for the event.

Roles:

Annette Sanks was our Presiding Officer!

Herman Raybon was our Opener!

Trudie Root was our Toastmaster of the Day with the theme: “New Year’s
Resolution”!

Carmita Cooke was the Wordsmith with the word of the
day: “Resolute”, (adjective) meaning steadfast; determined; purposeful;
resolved

Forte Ward was our Grammarian!

Jerrick Alexander was our Timer!

Annika L’Ecuyer was our Listener!

Carmita Cooke was our Ballot Counter!

Forte Ward was our AH-counter!

Carmita Cooke was our Tipster!

Trudie Root was our Closer!

Annika L’Ecuyer was our Table Topics Master

Trudie Root was our Master Evaluator!

Congratulate Forte Ward, Speaker 1, with his speech “Growth in Progress”,
Advanced Manual Public Relations Project #2, The Persuasive Approach;

Congratulate Ernie Davis, Speaker 2, with his speech “Mr. Wealthy”,

Lillian Wilkinson

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot Seat” for last minute changes.
Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM
of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in!
You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, and Table
Topics Master, Timer, and many of the other duties. During or immediately
following the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small
evaluation in your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program — The more we do as individuals, the more goals
our Club achieves. If you go to Club Central and go to Distinguished Club
Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for
Helmsmen Toastmasters Club
