Minutes of the Helmsmen Toastmasters Table Topics Contest 11 September 2014

Club Business:

1. Presiding Officer Lillian Wilkinson stated the winner of the Helmsmen
Toastmasters Club Table Topics Contest will compete in the Area contest
September 22.

2. Treasurer Carl Sabath thanked everyone who had paid dues and reminded
members to pay dues by the end of September to: Elizabeth Femrite, Herman
Raybon, or Carl Sabath.

3. Elizabeth Femrite stated — on September 18, in addition to the club’s
humorous speaking contest– the club will conduct an abbreviated demo
Toastmasters meeting for the Blacks in Government group at noon. Please
contact Elizabeth Femrite or any of the officers if you are interested in
participating in the demo meeting. Helmsmen are also welcome to attend and
support the demo meeting.

Contest Roles:

Lillian Wilkinson was the Presiding Officer and President Annette Sanks
announced the winners !

Herman Raybon was our Opener!

Annika L’Ecuyer was the Table Topics Contest Master with the question for
contestants: “What do you think of America’s youth?” !

Bert Romero was our Sergeant at Arms !

Katelyn Kuehl was our Ballot Counter and Timer !

Herman Raybon was our Closer!

Congratulate Table Topic Contestants: Kevin Kloeppel, Ryan Harrell, and
Elizabeth Femrite !!

First Place Table Topics Winner was Elizabeth Femrite !!

Second Place Table Topics Winner was Kevin Kloeppel !!

On to the area contest!!

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot Seat” for last minute changes.
Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM
of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in!
You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, and Table
Topics Master, Timer, and many of the other duties. During or immediately
following the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small
evaluation in your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program — The more we do as individuals, the more goals
our Club achieves. If you go to Club Central and go to Distinguished Club
Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for
Helmsmen Toastmasters Club
