Minutes for Meeting 2748, Helmsmen Toastmasters Club 2412, Thursday August
14, 2014

Welcome esteemed guests Katelyn Kuehl, and
Soraya Aisien. We hope to see you as members!!

Club Business:

1. Carl Sabath stated that dues should be paid by September and an email is
forthcoming. Dues may be paid to Carl Sabath, Elizabeth Femrite or Herman

2. Jill Shanteau reported that the next Mentorship Committee meeting will be
in September.

3. Lillian reminded everyone that the Helmsmen Club’s Table Topics Contest
will be Sept 11 and the Club’s Humorous Speech Contest will be Sept 18. The
Club needs a Contest Master for these events. The winner will compete in
the Area Contest
on September 22. Elizabeth stated– in order to compete in the contests–
one must be a
member of the club in good standing.


Lillian Wilkinson was our Presiding Officer!

Annika L’Ecuyer was our Toast Master of the Day with the theme “Laughter”!

Carl Sabath was our Wordsmith with the word of the day: “emulate”
Meaning: to try to be equal to, surpass, or excel; imitate (verb)!

Ryan Harrell was our Grammarian!

Jerrick Alexander was our Timer!

Katelyn Kuehl was our Listener!

Soraya Aisien was our AH-counter!

Jill Shanteau was our Ballot Counter!

Kimberly Scott was our Tipster!

Bert Romero was our Closer!

Carmita Cooke was our Table Topics Master with the theme of “Questions
Related to Laughter”!

John Harms was our Master Evaluator!

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot Seat” for last minute changes.
Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM
of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in!
You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, and Table
Topics Master, Timer, and many of the other duties. During or immediately
following the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small
evaluation in your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program — The more we do as individuals, the more goals
our Club achieves. If you go to Club Central and go to Distinguished Club
Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for
Helmsmen Toastmasters Club
