Minutes for Meeting 2747, Helmsmen Toastmasters Club 2412, Thursday August
7, 2014

Club Business:

1. Carl Sabath reported that MAJ Travis J. Herbranson has become a member of
Helmsmen Toastmasters. Welcome Travis!

2. Herman Raybon noted that we have accomplished getting four officers
trained–the minimum required. The Area 11 Contest is Monday, September 22
at the BNA office. Tuesday, October 14 is the Division Contest and our
Division Governor Herman Raybon will host this event. On Saturday, November
1 is the District Fall Conference with great TM events.

3. REPEATED: The Club’s Table Topics Contest will be Sept 11 and the Club’s
Humorous Speech Contest will be Sept 18. The Club needs a Contest Master
for these events.

4. REPEATED: Attached are future dates for TLI training at various locations
and times.


Elizabeth Femrite was our Presiding Officer!

Lillian Wilkinson was our Opener!

Forte Ward was our Toast Master of the Day with the theme “It Can Be Done”

Trudie Root was our wordsmith with the word of the day: “dauntless”
Meaning fearless; not discouraged (adjective)

Travis Herbranson was our Grammarian!

Annika L’Ecuyer was our timer!

Carl Sabath was our listener!

Jill Shanteau was our AH-counter!

Trudie Root was our Ballot Counter!

Herman Raybon was our Tipster!

Elizabeth Femrite was our closer!

Ryan Harrell was our Table Topics Master with the theme of “It Can Be Done
Requires Inspiration”!

Carl Sabath was our Master Evaluator!

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot Seat” for last minute changes.
Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM
of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in!
You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, and Table
Topics Master, Timer, and many of the other duties. During or immediately
following the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small
evaluation in your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program — The more we do as individuals, the more goals
our Club achieves. If you go to Club Central and go to Distinguished Club
Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for
Helmsmen Toastmasters Club
