Minutes for Meeting 2753, Helmsmen Toastmasters Club 2412, Thursday July 10,

Welcome esteemed guest Paul Robinson, guest of Lillian Wilkinson, we hope
you’ll take your experience with you to Liberty, MS and seek out
Toastmasters to enhance your speaking and leadership skills.


1. Herman Raybon, Jr. our District Governor, announced the fall Humorous
Speech and Evaluation contests for the Division will be held on Thursday
evening 9 October 2014. The Area contest will most likely be held the week
before and the club contest are to be held at least the day before the Area
contest. Please consider competing in one of the contests in the club. As
Bert Romero likes to say, “You’re not Complete until you Compete!”

2. Jill Shanteau our Mentorship leader who is a committee member of the VP
Education headed by Lillian Wilkinson, announced that she will be hosting a
mentorship meeting and all mentors, mentees and prospective mentor/mentees
are invited to attend. The meeting will be held in the Pentagon food court
near Dunkin Donuts this afternoon at 2:00pm, Thursday, 10 July 2014.

3. Training for officers (new additions to the list) Toastmasters Learning
Institute (TLI). New officers are required to attend training offered by
TLI. All TMs are welcome to attend. Training is free. As more dates become
available, we will post. Be sure to have
Your club name Helmsmen Toastmasters and Club Number 2412 when you attend
training in another district.

Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM
of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in!
You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, and Table
Topics Master, Timer, and many of the other duties. During or immediately
following the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small
evaluation in your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program — The more we do as individuals, the more goals
our Club achieves. If you go to Club Central and go to Distinguished Club
Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for
Helmsmen Toastmasters Club
