Minutes for Meeting 2740, Helmsman Toastmasters Club 2412, Thursday June 19,
2014

Welcome esteemed guest Aletha Cooke! We hope you’ll decide to
become a member.

Business:

1. Mentoring meeting today at 2pm, Main Food Court near Dunkin Donuts.
Meeting will be led by TM Jill Shanteau. Please attend if your schedule
permits.

3. Toastmasters Learning Institute (TLI). New officers are required to
attend training offered by TLI. All TMs are welcome to attend.
Training is free. As more dates become available, we will post.

c. Thursday, June 26, 6-8 PM
Registration at 5:30 PM, Core Officer Training, Census Bureau Building
There are strict Security procedures to enter the Census Bureau building.
For this reason, all non-Census employees wishing to enter the building must
register two days beforehand (24 June 2014), so it can be forwarded to the
Census Security office.
The training will begin at 6:00 PM and end at 8:00 PM. Because of security
procedures, it could take up to 15- 30 minutes before you can enter the
building. So plan ahead.
Food will be provided, donation requested.

4. Helmsmen TM will host our District 27 International Speech Contest
Champion, Martha Macphee on Thursday 26, June 2014 during our usual TM
meeting 7:30-8:45am. Martha will give her speech in preparation for the
August Semi-Finals in Malaysia. Plan to attend to support Martha!

5. Carl Sabath is our Toast Master of the Day for June 26, 2014. Please
help save him time by
signing up for a role using EasySpeak, or when asked, please volunteer for a
role.

Roles:

Toastmaster of the Day was Jill Shanteau with the theme “For the Love of
Futbol”

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot Seat” for last; minute changes.
Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM
of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in!
You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, and Table
Topics
Master, Timer, and many of the other duties. During or immediately
following the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small
evaluation in your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program — The more we do as individuals, the more goals
our Club achieves. If you go to Club Central and go to Distinguished Club
Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for
