Minutes for Meeting 2739, Helmsman Toastmasters Club 2412, Thursday 12 June

Welcome guests Brian Picerno and Aletha Cooke! We hope you’ll decide to
become a member.

Huge “Thank You”, to Elizabeth Femrite, Trudie Root, Jill Shanteau for helping with the minutes!! Thank you!

Business:

1. Toastmasters Learning Institute (TLI). New officers are required to
attend training offered by TLI. All TMs are welcome to attend.
Training is free. As more dates become available, we will post.

2. Helmsmen TM will host our District 27 International Speech Contest
Champion, Martha Macphee on Thursday 26 June 2014 during our usual TM
meeting 7:30-8:45am. Martha will give her speech in preparation for the
August Semi-Finals in Malaysia. Plan to attend to support Martha!

3. Jill Shanteau is our TMoD for June 19, 2014. Please help save her time by
signing up for a role using EasySpeak or when asked please volunteer for a role.

Toastmaster of the Day was Herman Raybon with the theme “A Salute to the
United States Army”

Jerrick Alexander was our Wordsmith with the word of the day: “Germane” relevant and
appropriate; fitting (adj); also HOOAH! (military slang); “referring to or meaning anything
and everything except no”

Brian Picerno was our Grammarian and AH-counter!

Jerrick Alexander was our timer!

Aletha Cooke was our listener!

Bert Romero was our Ballot Counter!

Herman Raybon was our Tipster!

Bert Romero was our closer!

Sheila Heyward-Snipes was our Table Topics Master!

Annette Sanks was our Master Evaluator!

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot Seat” for last ;minute changes.
Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM
of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in!
You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics
Master, Timer, and many of the other duties. During or immediately
following the meetin, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small
evaluation in your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program — The more we do as individuals, the more goals
our Club achieves. If you go to Club Central and go to Distinguished Club
Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for
