Minutes for Meeting 2719, Helmsmen Toastmasters Club 2422, Thursday, February 6, 2014.

Welcome our esteemed guests: Jonathan Sabado, Jeanette Whaley, Reginald Eggleston and Deborah Blockett, for attending and we hope they decide to become a members of our Helmsmen Club.


1 Helmsmen Club contests: Evaluation Contest is scheduled for March 6, 2014 and the International Speech Contest is scheduled for March 13, 2014. There will be many roles to fill for both contests at the club, Area and District levels and you could receive credit for CL requirements. If interested please see Elizabeth Femrite or Carl Sabath.

2 Area 11 Governor Herman Raybon, Jr encourage members to seek Office positions at the Area level. He is searching for his successor as Area 11 Governor. If interested please discuss with Herman soonest. He further highlighted upcoming 2014 Spring Area 11 Contests scheduled for March 27. He further encourage members to save the date and compete. Additional details regarding time and location
for the Evaluation Contest and International Speech Contests will be provided soonest.

3 District 27 Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI)/Club Officer Training. Please see attachment for details.
It’s Free professional training and open to all Toastmasters. All new Club Officers will need to attend the Core Officer Training.

5 Next Helmsmen Club meeting is scheduled for February 13, 2014, in the PLCC. Jerrick Alexander will serve as our TMoD.

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot Seat” for last minute changes.
Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM
of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in!
You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics
Master, Timer and many of the other duties. During or immediately following
the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in
your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program – The more we do as Individuals, the more goals
our Club achieves. If you go to Club Central and go to Distinguished Club
Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for
Helmsmen Toastmasters club
