Minutes for Meeting 2719, Helmsmen Toastmasters Club 2412, Thursday, January 16, 2014.

A huge Helmsmen welcome and thanks to our guest Jeanette Whaley for attending and hope she’ll decide to become a member.

Business:

1 Area 11 Governor Herman Raybon, Jr highlighted upcoming 2014 Spring Area 11 Contests scheduled for March 27.
He further encourage members to save the date and compete. Additional details regarding time and location
for the Evaluation Contest and International Speech Contests will be provided soonest.

2 District 27 Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI)/Club Officer Training. Please see attachment for details.
It’s Free professional training and open to all Toastmasters. All new Club Officers will need to attend the Core Officer Training.

3 VP- Education, Jill Shanteau, thanked members for utilizing easy speak to sign up for roles. Sign up for the next meeting
was discussed and most major roles for next week meeting have already been assigned in Easy Speak.
VP-Education encouraged TM to continue to use easy speak to register for meeting attendance and roles.
It’s a great tool and makes tracking your roles, goals and accomplishments easy. Give it a try!!

4 TM Annika L’Ecuyer was the winner of our Membership Drive Contest and was presented with $25 gift card.

5 Next Helmsmen Club meeting is scheduled for January 23, 2014, in the PLCC. Eugene Burrell will serve as TMoD.
Please use easy speak to sign up for a role.

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot Seat” for last minute changes.
Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM
of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in!
You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics
Master, Timer and many of the other duties. During or immediately following
the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in
your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program – The more we do as Individuals, the more goals
our Club achieves. If you go to Club Central and go to Distinguished Club
Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for
