Minutes for Meeting 2718, Helmsmen Toastmasters Club 2412, Thursday, January 9, 2014.

Business:

1 Installation of Helmsmen Toastmasters Club Executive Board differed until the next meeting.

2 Area 11 Governor Herman Raybon, Jr highlighted upcoming 2014 Spring Contests and encourage members to compete.
Further details about dates, time and location for the Evaluation Contest and International Speech Contests will be provided soonest.

3 District 27 Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI)/Club Officer Training. Please see attachment for details.
It’s Free professional training and open to all Toastmasters. All new Club Officers will need to attend the Core Officer Training.

4 VP- Education, Jill Shanteau, encourages TM to use easy speak to register for meeting attendance and roles.
It’s a great tool and makes tracking your roles, goals and accomplishments easy. Give it a try!!

5 Next Helmsmen Club meeting is scheduled for January 16, 2014, in the PLCC. John Durish will serve as TMoD.

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot Seat” for last minute changes.
Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM
of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in!
You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics
Master, Timer and many of the other duties. During or immediately following
the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in
your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program – The more we do as Individuals, the more goals
our Club achieves. If you go to Club Central and go to Distinguished Club
Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for
