Good Afternoon Helmsmen Toastmasters,

Minutes for Meeting 2708, Helmsmen Toastmasters Club 2412, Thursday, October
10, 2013.


1. Jill Shanteau, VP Education, asked us to use Easy-Speak to update and
correct our Competent Communicator and Competent Leader status. Attached is
the Easy-Speak guide and go to to access the site.

2. Fall Toastmasters Contest Information.

Division A Humorous Speech and Table Topics contests will be held
Wednesday, October 23, 5:30-8:30pm at Bloomberg BNA
1801 South Bell Street, Crystal City Shops,Arlington,VA 22202

The winners of the Division A
Humorous Speech and Table Topics Contest will compete in the District 27
Fall Conference Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. Crowne Plaza
National Airport 1480 Crystal Drive Arlington, Virginia 22202 and go to, for registration and other information.

Toastmaster of the Day was Herman Raybon, Jr., with the theme “International
Association of Administrative Professionals”!

Luke Lisell was our Wordsmith with the Word of the Day — “Quandary” a
state of doubt; perplexity.

Jill Shanteau was our Grammarian!

Luke Lisell was our Ah-Counter!

Eugene Burrell was our Timer!

Carlos Arzeno was our Listener!

Jerrick Alexander was our Ballot Counter!

Lillian Wilkinson was our Table Topics Master!

Elizabeth Femrite was our Master Evaluator!

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot Seat” for last minute changes.

Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM
of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in!

You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics
Master, Timer and many of the other duties. During or immediately following
the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in
your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program – The more we do as Individuals, the more goals
our Club achieves. If you go to Club Central and go to Distinguished Club
Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for
Helmsmen Toastmasters Club
