Hello Toastmasters!

Minutes for Meeting 2698, Helmsmen Toastmasters Club 2412, Thursday, August 1, 2013.


1. VP Education encourages Helmsmen to use speak easy to request speech, confirm attendance and confirm roles. A “Checkmark” means you have confirmed your role in easyspeak…where is you checkmark? Try it here…………

2. Carlos Arzeno Highlighted two Brainstorming ideas: 1) Keep a notebook available to record ideas 2) best daily time to brainstorm is at bedtime and mornings. Remember don’t ever force the idea, rather let it the idea come to you.

3. New Club in Pentagon! There is a new club being formed and will meet on Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. The first was held on Tuesday July 23, 2013 in the Pentagon’s main food court area near the Dunkin Donuts. Please help spread the word.

4.District TLI Training: Friday, 9 August 2013, GSA Regional Office Bldg. 7th Street Southwest, Washington, DC. 20024, registration at 11:30 a.m. Core Training at 12 p.m. and Training ends at 2:00 p.m.
Monday, 19 August 2013, NRECA, 4301 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, Virginia, 22203, registration at 6 p.m. Core Training at 6:30 p.m. and Training ends at 8:30 p.m.
Please remember if you cannot attend one of the six District 27 TLIs please attend a District 18, 29, 36, and/or 66 TLI. Details at

Yash Sinha was our Master Evaluator!

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot Seat” for last minute changes.

Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in!

You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics Master, Timer and many of the other duties. During or immediately following the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program – The more we do as Individuals, the more goals our Club achieves. If you go to Club Central and go to Distinguished Club Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for Helmsmen Toastmasters club
