Hello Toastmasters!

Minutes for Meeting 2697, Helmsmen Toastmasters Club 2412, Thursday, July 25, 2013.

Helmsmen President Damien Butler swore in our newest members Carmita Cooke and Elias Mourany. Please welcome our newest Helmsman!

Congratulations to all our speakers on meeting their speech objectives for Project 1. Since all the speakers were completing Project 1 in the CC Manual it keep the meeting informative, light and infused with humor and good speech delivery.


1. Helmsmen Toastmaster and current 2013 District 27 Evaluation Champion, Carlos Arzeno will present his Evaluation Workshop this weekend, June 27 at our District 27 Toastmasters Training, at the Fairlington Community Center, 3308 South Stafford Street, Arlington VA 22206, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Registration starts at 8:30 am.

2. VP Education encourages Helmsmen to use speak easy to request speech, confirm attendance and confirm roles. It’s easy to use and helps the VP of Education track our Toastmasters progress/development. – See the attached guide and try it here…………

3. New Club in Pentagon! There is a new club being formed and will meet on Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. The first was held on Tuesday July 23, 2013 in the Pentagon’s main food court area near the Dunkin Donuts. Please help spread the word.

Amy Hunt was our Master Evaluator!

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot Seat” for last minute changes.

Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in!

You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics Master, Timer and many of the other duties. During or immediately following the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program – The more we do as Individuals, the more goals our Club achieves. If you go to Club Central and go to Distinguished Club Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for Helmsmen Toastmasters club
