Hello Toastmasters!

Minutes for Meeting 2696, Helmsmen Toastmasters Club 2412, Thursday, July
18, 2013.

Welcome to our guests, Al Davis and Mike Lightner. We hope you will
consider joining our Club!


1. Carlos Arzeno the 2013 District 27 Evaluation Champion, will present an
Evaluation Workshop on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at the Fairlington Community
Center, 3308 South Stafford Street, Arlington VA 22206, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

2. Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI) provides a free training
curriculum that is required for all Toastmasters Club Officers. Of course,
any member with an interest in leadership can attend these sessions for free
as well! See the attachment for current training opportunities.

3. New Club in Pentagon! There is a new club being formed and will meet on
Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. The first meeting will be held on
Tuesday July 23, 2013 in the Pentagon’s main food court area near the Dunkin
Donuts. Please help spread the word.

4. Mike Quashne, our VP-Education, reminds us how easy it is for members to
use Easy Speak when volunteering to fill and confirm roles or request speech
slots. A check mark in Easy Speak means you have confirmed your role and/or
attendance for a meeting. Where is your check mark for our next meeting???

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot Seat” for last minute changes.

Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM
of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in!

You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics
Master, Timer and many of the other duties. During or immediately following
the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in
your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program – The more we do as Individuals, the more goals
our Club achieves. If you go to Club Central and go to Distinguished Club
Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for
Helmsmen Toastmasters club
