Hello Toastmasters!

Minutes for Meeting 2695, Helmsmen Toastmasters Club 2412, Thursday, July 11, 2013.

Welcome to our guests, Christina Mabry. We hope you will consider joining our Club!

Welcome to our fellow Toastmasters from PENTAF Toastmasters Club, Ralph Jones, District 27 Governor; Rhonda Bello, PENTAF President and Robert Kuhn, PENTAF Sergeant-At-Arms.

New members: Welcome to our newest Helmsman Toastmaster Elias Mourany!

Today we hosted a Speech-A-Thon with the PENTAF Toastmasters Club. Congratulations to all the speakers on meeting their respective objectives. Well done and brilliant speech delivery.

Business:

1. Helmsmen Toastmaster and current 2013 District 27 Evaluation Champion, Carlos Arzeno presented an abridged version of his Evaluation Workshop. Carlos will present the entire workshop on June 27 at our District 27 Toastmasters training. Fairlington Community Center, 3308 South Stafford Street, Arlington VA 22206, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

2. Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI) provides a free training curriculum that is required for all Toastmasters Club Officers. Of course, any member with an interest in leadership can attend these sessions for free as well! See the attachment for current training opportunities.

3. District 27 Governor Ralph Jones addressed our club. He commented on our meeting style, Carlos Arzeno and Mike Quashne performances at the District Competition. He also stated, “Helmsman Toastmaster Club is the best in our District 27” and he’s donating a new podium to our Club.

Congratulate Ralph Jones, Speaker 3, with his speech, “Develop Your Own PAS Code,” Project 1 The Entertaining Speaker, Entertaining Speeches Manual, Evaluated by Carl Sabath.

Congratulate Mike Quashne, Speaker 4, with his speech, “Rewrite,” Advance Manual The Entertaining Speaker, Evaluated by Carlton Hart.

Congratulate Carlos Arzeno (2013 District 27 Evaluation Champion), Speaker 5, with his training presentation, “Evaluation Workshop,” Evaluated by John Harms.

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot Seat” for last minute changes.

Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in!

You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics Master, Timer and many of the other duties. During or immediately following the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program – The more we do as Individuals, the more goals our Club achieves.
