Hello Toastmasters!

Minutes for Meeting 2690, Helmsmen Toastmasters Club 2412, Thursday, May 30, 2013.

Congratulations and welcome to our newest Helmsmen Toastmaster, Jerrick Alexander!

Welcome to our guests, Jalissia Carr, Enjoli Ramsey, Ryan Harrell and Andre Williams! We hope you will consider joining our Club!

Business:

1. Helmsmen Toastmaster and current District 27 Evaluation Champion, Carlos Arzeno, is soliciting [your] input for material as he prepares a presentation for speech evaluations. Please contact Carlos directly with your thoughts/ideas.

2. The Slate of Club Officers for 1 July – 31 December 2013 was approved at Meeting 2689, May 23, 2013:
President – Damien Butler
Vice President – Mike Quashne
Vice President Membership – Elizabeth Femrite
Vice President Public Relations – Annika L’Ecuyer
Secretary – Annette Sanks
Treasurer – Carl Sabath
Sergeant-at-Arms – Yash Sinha

3. Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI) provides a free training curriculum that is required for all Toastmasters Club Officers. Of course, any member with an interest in leadership can attend these sessions for free as well! Although we are in District 27, you can attend any of the other District’s training sessions noted in the attached TLI document.

5. Mike Quashne will be Toastmaster of the Day next week, Thursday, June 6, 2013. We will meet at 7:30am in room B3 of the Pentagon Library and Conference Center.

Katie Dawson was our Timer!

Jalissia Carr was our Listener!

John Durish was our Ballot Counter!

Elizabeth Femrite was our Tipster!

Jill Shanteau was our Table Topics Master!

Herman Raybon was our Master Evaluator!

Congratulate Damien Butler, Speaker 1, with his speech, “The Bones Theory,” Project 2 – Resources for Entertainment from The Entertaining Speaker Manual of the AC Series,
Evaluated by Annette Sanks.

Congratulate John Harms, Speaker 2, with his speech, “Sentences,” Project 8 in the CC Manual, Evaluated by Carlos Arzeno.

Congratulate Sandrina Ray, Speaker 3, with her speech, “Superwoman,” Project 1 in the CC Manual, Evaluated by Annika L’Ecuyer.

Table Topics speakers were Elizabeth Femrite, Annette Sanks and Andre Williams.

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot Seat” for last minute changes.

Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in!

You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics Master, Timer and many of the other duties. During or immediately following the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program – The more we do as Individuals, the more goals our Club achieves. If you go to Club Central and go to Distinguished Club Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for Helmsmen Toastmasters club http://reports.toastmasters.org/reports_new/dcp.cfm.
