Hello Toastmasters!

Minutes for Meeting 2672, Helmsmen Toastmasters Club 2412, Thursday, January 31, 2013

Welcome to our guest, Eugene Burrell! We hope you will decide to become a member.

Business:

1. Congratulations to Toastmaster Samay Thaboun on being the 100th member to join Helmsmen since we moved back into the Pentagon in May 2008!

2. It is time to prepare for the International Speech and Evaluation Contests. Contests benefit everyone who participates. There are many roles that can help you improve such skills as organization, teamwork, written and verbal communication, and event coordination. In addition to contestants, we will need Contest Chairs, Contest Masters, Judges, and other roles filled. The 2013 Speech Contest Rulebook is attached – Please note the contestant eligibility requirements in paragraph 2, page 5. More information to follow.

3. Carl Sabath will be Toastmaster of the Day next week, Thursday, February 7, 2013.

4. We will meet in room B7 in the Pentagon Library and Conference Center next week.

Steve Hill was our Timer!

Annette Sanks was our Listener!

Carlos Arzeno was our Ballot Counter!

Scott Battle was our Table Topics Master!

Miriam Michael was our Master Evaluator!

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot Seat” for last minute changes.

Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in!

You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics Master, Timer and many of the other duties. Right after the meeting or during the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in your leadership book. Distinguished Club Program – The more we do as Individuals, the more goals our Club achieves.
