Good morning Toastmasters,

Congratulations to our own Helmsmen Toastmaster Herman Raybon, Jr. for
winning the Division A Humorous Speech contest held last night in Crystal
City. Herman will be headed to the District 27 Fall Conference to compete
in the next level of the Humorous Speech contest.


1. Congratulations to Amy Hunt and Scott Battle who were inducted as new
members into the Helmsmen Toastmasters club today!

2. Come out and support Herman Raybon, Jr. as he competes in the District
d27 Fall Conference contest. The Conference will be held Saturday, 3
November 2012 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., in the Sunset Room at National
Harbor, 137 National Plaza, Suite 200, National Harbor, Oxon Hill, MD 20745.

3. Next Thursday, October 11, 2012, Toastmaster of the Day will be Carl
Sabath and Master Evaluator will be Mike Quashne.

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot seat” for last minute changes.

Things change often so when you are ready to give your speech let the TM of
the Day know even if you aren’t “schedule.” We can always fit you in!

You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics
Master, Timer and many of the other duties. Right after the Meeting or
during the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small
evaluation in your leadership book. Distinguished Club Program – The More We
Do as Individuals, the More Goals Our Club Achieves.
