Good morning Toastmasters,

Welcome guests Bryon Tonic, Hui Chu Skinner, Kimberly Welter, Scott Battle and LaMarc Comrie. We hope you’ll decide to become a member.

Welcome our newest member Scott Battle! Congratulations for deciding to improve your communication and leadership skills!

Business:

1. Support our own club members as they compete in the Division contest. Yash Sinha (Table Topics) and Herman Raybon, Jr. (Humorous) will represent Helmsmen Toastmasters in the Division Humorous Speech and Table Topics Contest to be held on Wednesday 3 October 2012 at 6:15 p.m. at BNA located at 1801 South Bell Street, Crystal City, VA across from the metro.

2. Next Thursday, October 4, 2012, Elizabeth Femrite will be Toastmaster of the Day and Sheila Heyward-Snipes will be Master Evaluator.

Speakers on deck: Miriam Michael, Sandrina Ray, and Bert Romero. If you are ready to speak please advise Elizabeth to fit you into the agenda.

3. We will meet in room B7 in the Pentagon Library and Conference Center.

Byron Tonic was Wordmaster with the Word of the Day — “Imperative”

Ballot Counter was Carlos Arzeno

Kimberly Welter was Listener

Tipster was Dan Krall

Cindy Minnifield was our Table Topics Master

Lillian Wilkinson was Master Evaluator

Congratulate Kim Caudle, Speaker 1, with her speech, “A Precious Resource” Competent Communicator project 2, Evaluated by John Harms

Congratulate Yash Sinha, Speaker 2, with his speech, “Flowers” Competent Communicator project 6, Evaluated by Dan Krall

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot seat” for last minute changes.

Things change often so when you are ready to give your speech let the TM of the Day know even if you aren’t “schedule.” We can always fit you in!

You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics Master, Timer and many of the other duties. Right after the Meeting or
during the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in your leadership book. Distinguished Club Program – The More We Do as Individuals, the More Goals Our Club Achieves.
