2012-08-09 Helmsmen Toastmasters Club 2412 Meeting 2650 Minutes

Greetings Toastmasters,

Welcome guests Kimberly Winborne, Vanessa Walker and Gladys Bush. We hope
you’ll decide to become a member.

Welcome our newest member Sandrina Ray! We are glad you joined today!

Business:

1) The club voted Lillian Wilkinson as club President to take Jim Adams
position. Jim’s work schedule has consumed his time and he has been
unavailable to attend club meetings regularly. Congratulations Lillian!
Great Helmsmen say “YES!”

2) We had a visit today from Charlie DeWitt, the Area 11 Governor. He
wished us continued success as we work to reach our club goals for this
term.

3) Thursday, August 16, 2012 Lillian Wilkinson, CL, will be the Toastmaster
of the Day and Dan Krall will be Master Evaluator.

Speakers on deck: Carlos Arzeno, Kim Caudle, Dave Pope, Jill Shanteau, and
Earl White.

4) We’ll meet in Room B7 on August 16 in the Pentagon Library and
Conference Center. The August 23 meeting will be held in Room M1.

5) The Table Topics Contest and Humorous Speech Contest will be held in
September. We need contestants and other contest roles to be filled.
Please contact one of the officers to participate.

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot seat” for last minute changes.

Things change often so when you are ready to give your speech let the TM of
the Day know even if you aren’t “scheduled.” We can almost always fit you
in!

You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics
Master, Timer and many of the other duties. Right after the Meeting or
during the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small
evaluation in your leadership book.
