Minutes for Meeting 2647 Helmsmen Toastmasters Club 2412 Thursday July 19, 2012

Good morning Toastmasters,

Welcome guest Damien Butler for coming to our meeting today! We hope you’ll decide to become a member.

Business:

1) Thursday, July 26, Bert Romero, CTM, CL will be the Toastmaster of the Day and Jennifer Mitchell will be Master Evaluator.

Speakers on deck: Sheila Heyward-Snipes, Tami Kim, and Carl Sabath.

2) We’ll meet in Room M4 for July 26 in the Pentagon Library and Conference Center.

3) Officers are Checking out the Toastmasters Leadership Institute and figuring out when they will attend their leadership training. All members are invited to attend; it’s not just for officers.

4) Bert Romero, CTM, CL is filling in and leading our Mentor Program; if you already have a mentor you’re happy with or you wish to change mentors or you are new and you need a mentor, please let him know.

5) Bert is a busy guy. He is backfilling our VP-E and is trying to put together a chart of where everyone is with their Speech and Leadership goals.

Larry Curtin was the Ballot Counter

Stephanie Pettway was the Listener

Carl Sabath, DTM was the Tipster

Toni Pride was our Table Topics Master

Lillian Wilkinson, DTM was our Master Evaluator

Congratulate Herman Raybon, Jr., Speaker 1, with his speech “Performance Management”, Project 8, Get Comfortable with Visual Aids, Competent Communicator manual, Evaluated by Earl White, DTM

Congratulate Royce Edington, Speaker 2, with his Storytelling speech “The Fisherman and His Wife”, Project 1, Advanced manual, evaluated by Yash Sinha

Table Topics speakers were Dan Krall, Larry Curtin, Damien Butler, Earl White, John Harms

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot seat” for last minute changes.

Things change often so when you are ready to give your speech let the TM of the Day know even if you aren’t “scheduled.” We can almost always fit you
in!

You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics Master, Timer and many of the other duties. Right after the Meeting or during the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in your leadership book.
