Minutes for Meeting 2639 Helmsmen Toastmasters Club 2412 Thursday May 24, 2012

Good morning Toastmasters,

Congratulate our newest member Yash Sinha!


1) Jim Adams the Presiding Officer of today’s meeting as well as the current President of Helmsmen Toastmaster presented some awards of achievement to two of our fellow Toastmasters:

—-Congratulations to Lillian Wilkinson for completing the Competent
Leadership goals to receive her Competent Leadership award

—-Congratulations to Earl White for completing the Distinguished
Toastmasters goals to receive the Distinguished Toastmasters (DTM)
designation after his name. DTM is the highest award one can achieve in Toastmasters.

2) Jim Adams also conducted an induction ceremony for two of our new

—-Congratulations Kim Caudle!

—-Congratulations Miriam Michael!

You’re on your way to speak, think, lead and listen better.

3) Carl Sabath, DTM, commented on the new officer elections to be held on 7
June 2012. The next term is 1 July thru 31 December. Carl encourages
anyone interested in taking an officer position to let Carl or Jim Adams
know as soon as possible. Toastmasters provides free training for the
officer positions in the Jul/Aug timeframe at various locations and times.
Attached is the handout Carl provided with the officer positions defined.

officers about their responsibilities.

4) We’ll meet in Room B10 next week for the 31 May 2012 meeting and room B7
the following week for the 7 June 2012 meeting in the Pentagon Library and
Conference Center.

5) Assignment sheet thru 30 Aug is attached. Check your name for your roles and if you are ready to give a speech and are not scheduled, please let us know.

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot seat” for last minute changes.

Things change often so when you are ready to give your speech let the TM of the Day know even if you aren’t “scheduled.” We can almost always fit you in!

You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics Master, Timer and many of the other duties. Right after the Meeting or during the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program – The More We Do as Individuals, the More Goals Our Club Achieves. If you go to club central and go to Distinguished Club Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for Helmsmen Toastmasters club
