Minutes for Meeting 2626, Helmsmen Toastmasters Club 2412, February 23, 2012

Good Day All,

Welcome back Royce Edington.  Good to see and have you back into the fold.


1.  Next week’s Toastmaster of the Day will be Jim Adams!

2.  Speech/Evaluation Chair, Elizabeth (Femrite), gave us a quick update on
the particulars of Helmsmen Toastmaster Speech/Evaluation Contest on 8 March
12.  The club level contest will be held at our 8 March meeting.  Speaker
eligibility: Must have completed at least six speech projects in the
competent communications manual.  Evaluator eligibility: Must be a
Toastmaster in good standing.  The winners of our club contest will move on
to the Area Contest level on 28 March.

3.  Carl Sabath gave us an update on our next round of club dues.  Let’s be
proactive in this effort.

4.  New website coming mid-February.

Herman Raybon was Presiding Officer, Lister, and Ballot Counter

Elizabeth Femrite provided the Opening, Timer, and Closer.

Carl Sabath, DTM was Toastmaster of the Day with the theme “Leap Year”

Royce Edington, the Wordmaster, provided the Word of the Day —
“Imperative”; and Speech Evaluator (Carlton Hart).

Herman Raybon was our Listener

Earl White, DTM was our Master Evaluator

Bert Romero, CTM, CL was our Grammarian/Ah Counter, Speech Evaluator (Mary

Timer was Elizabeth Femrite

Great job to Speaker #1, Carlton Hart, on his Competent Communicator Project
#7, “Out of the Box Thinking.”

Great job to Speaker #2, Mary Johnson, on her Competent Communicator Project
#2, “Accepting/Understanding the Cloud of Death.”

Great job to Speaker #3, Steve Hill, on his Competent Communicator Project
#2, “Carpe Tempus.”  He was evaluated by Forté Ward, CTM.

Table Topics Master was Toni Pride.

Table Topics Speakers were Herman Raybon and Royce Edington.

Best Speaker was Steve Hill!

Best Evaluator was  Forté Ward, CTM.

Best Table Topics Speaker Herman Raybon!


Change.  It happens.  Be willing and able to step in where needed in our
club scheduling.  This will increase your ability to speak, listen, and
evaluate from the hip.

You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics
Master, Timer and many of the other duties.  Right after the Meeting or
during the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small
evaluation in your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program – The More We Do as Individuals, the More Goals
Our Club Achieves.  If you go to club central and go to Distinguished Club
Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for
Helmsmen Toastmasters club
