2012-01-19 Helmsmen Toastmasters Meeting 2621 Minutes

January 21, 2012

Hello All,

Another great session for the history books!  You can always learn or get
better in Toastmasters (TM), but it all depends on what you want out of it.
Jim (Adams) gave us all some business updates:

(1) 5 of 7 new officers have
completed the TLI Officer Training.  This means we are gaining momentum in
achieving the President’s Distinguished Club award.  If we are truly engaged
with bettering ourselves in Toastmasters, we will earn the President’s
Distinguished Club award.  Keep pushing!

(2) Reinstatement of the executive
club members meeting will occur on the 4th Wednesday of each month at
1100-1200 in the PNT food court area; and

(3) please bring in your old TM
magazines, if you would like, to help shape new members and the club as a

Herman (Raybon) was a Toastmaster of the Day (TMOD) and he did an excellent
job.  His theme was “Dare to Dream!” The theme was centered around Dr.
Martin Luther King’s “I Have A Dream” speech.  Herman gave heartfelt
memories of his past which gave us some insight of how things actually were.
Good job.  Some people were unable to attend, but that is ok, those who
attended kept the “party moving” and that is what team work is all about.

I gave my “ice breaker” (“What I’ve Learned”) speech due to no assigned
speakers were present.  I hope all enjoyed.

Elizabeth (Femrite) jumped in with table top topics.  The whole session overall was seamless.  Outstanding
job by everyone who attended.
