Good Morning Toastmasters,
Welcome guests Darin Tibbetts, Toni Pride, and Jennifer Mitchell. We hope
you’ll decide to join our club!
Business:
1) The District 27 Fall Conference is this weekend. The conference will
host the District Table Topics and Humorous Speech Contests on Friday
November 11 and Saturday November 12 at L’Enfant Plaza Hotel, located at 480
‘Enfant Plaza, SW, Washington, DC 20024. For more information go to

2) If you are interest in one of the club officer positions please let us
know as we will have elections in Nov/Dec. The term is Jan-Jun 2012 (six
months). Current officers are President Beth Garcia, Vice President of
Education Jim Adams, Vice President of Membership Lillian Wilkinson, Vice
President of Public Relations Carlton Hart, Secretary Elizabeth Femrite,
Treasurer Carl Sabath, Sergeant-at-Arms Bert Romero. Free TLI training is
provided for the officer positions. Confirmed TLI Sessions for Districts
27, 29,and 36 (training for club officers is two hours and some locations
also offer free elective sessions):

3) We will meet in Room M1 in the Pentagon Conference Center (PCC) next
week Thursday 17 Nov 11. The following week, 24 Nov 11, is Thanksgiving
holiday and we will not meet. For the month of December we will meet in
Room B10.
4) The updated assignment sheet is attached please check your name for role
changes.
5) We’ll be having a holiday party at the 15 Dec 11 TM meeting. The format
will be different as there will be no planned speeches; instead there will
be more impromptu speaking similar to Table Topics. Everyone is invited to
bring a wrapped “pink elephant” gift to exchange. A pink elephant gift is
typically a re-gift, a garage-sale type item, or something you no longer use
and want to give away. The Table Topics will manifest from the
pink-elephant gift.

Remember that you can always be on the “Hot seat” for last minute changes.
Things change often so when you are ready to give your speech let the TM of
the Day know even if you aren’t “scheduled.” We can almost always fit you
in!
You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics
Master, Timer and many of the other duties. Right after the Meeting or
during the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small
evaluation in your leadership book.
