2011-06-16 Helmsmen Toastmasters Club Meeting 2593 Minutes

Hi All,

We welcomed a guest today, David Finlay, who did a great job as Timer
and TT speaker! We hope you will return to our club and decide to join.

Also, please welcome our newest member, David Grimaldo! He was not able
to attend today’s meeting, but submitted his registration and is now a
full member of the Helmsmen!

Next week, for Meeting 2594, June 23, 2011, your Toastmaster of the Day
will be myself, we’ll be in room B10! Theme of the day will be “WELCOME
SUMMER!” Lillian Wilkinson is scheduled to be Master Evaluator.

I will be confirming assignments tomorrow via email. Check the
attachment for the latest assignments. Please confirm by email or phone
your attendance/inattendance. This helps us plan our meetings!

Elections are Coming. As a club that meets weekly, we choose officers
for six-month terms. Our immediate Past President is scouting out
officers for a slate and he discussed this during the business portion
of the meeting. Being a club officer will develop your leadership in
different ways. The officers are: President, VP Education, VP
Membership, VP Public Relations, Secretary, Treasurer and Sergeant at
Arms. Remember Great Helmsmen Say, “Yes!”

Also officers are required to attend training so they get credit for
their leadership positions. Free training will be available in June and
July. Dates are listed below. Books and pdf files about positions are
available as well.

(NOTE: Since the District has split into District 27 and District 29,
remember folks can attend training and get credit at either as long as
they sign name, club name, number 2412, and office they are training
for. Folks who have attended before can attend other officer training or
electives to get credit as well)
