Hello Helmsmen,

I heard that the meeting was great!

Welcome to our guests Terrance Holmes (School Street Club), Nikki Deberdt and Travious Goines. We hope you’ll decide to join us at the Helmsmen Toastmaster Club.

Welcome to our newest member Travious Goines. We are glad to have you aboard!

President Dvija Malovic held an outstanding induction ceremony. The following new members were inducted:

Old Business:

Treasurer Carl Sabath reminded everyone to pay their dues ($36 to renew) by March 17 to collect three chocolate kisses. :-*

Please refer to the Meeting Assignments Tracker and Syllabus Tracker to keep up with your meeting assignments. A copy is included as an attachment to these minutes. Contact James Adams, Vice President-Education for more info. He is usually available before or after the meeting.

International Speech Competition will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Area A1 Governor Earl White has the latest info.

Congratulate Toastmaster Jim Adams for leading the meeting with the theme “Daylight Savings Time”

Remember that you can always be on the “Hotseat” for last minute changes.

Things change often so when you are ready to give your speech let the TM of the Day know even if you aren’t “scheduled.” We can almost always fit you in!

Why not work on your leadership and speech awards simultaneously? Don’t forget to bring in your Speaker and Leadership manuals.

You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics master, Timer and many of the other duties. Right after the Meeting or during the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in your leadership book.

Distinguished Club Program – The More We Do as Individuals, the More Goals Our Club Achieves. If you go to club central and go to Distinguished Club Program (DCP) reports, you can view the latest status of the goals for Helmsmen Toastmasters club. http://reports.toastmasters.org/reports_new/dcp.cfm Our club number is 2412. We have achieved 7 goals so far this year!

President Dvija Malovic challenges us to complete our individual goals:

Goal 1 — 2 folks complete their Competent Communicator manuals

Goal 2 — 2 more CC’s completed

Goal 3 — 1 Advanced Communicator Award completed

Goal 4 — 1 more AC Award completed

Goal 5 — 1 Competent Leader, Advanced Leader or Distinguished TM Award completed

Goal 6 — 1 more CL, AL or DTM completed

Goal 7 — 4 new members join

Goal 8 — 4 more new members join

Goal 9 — Officers are trained at both Summer and Winter TLI training

Goal 10 — New Club Officer Lists are handed in on time and Dues submitted to TM Int’l on time.

Distinguished Club Program:

Earn 5 Goals – Club is Distinguished

Earn 7 Goals – Club is Select Distinguished

Earn 9 Goals – Club is President’s Distinguished
