Meeting 2576 Notes

February 17, 2011

Hello Helmsmen,

It was a festive meeting today as we began to plan for the long Presidents Day Weekend !

Please welcome Christen Holder who is now our newest member. We are happy to have you aboard!

Welcome to our guests Adan Caraballo, Paul Cuyler, Elizabeth Femrite and Lillian Wilkinson . We hope you’ll decide to join us at the Helmsmen Toastmaster Club.

Business:

Treasurer Carl Sabath reminded everyone to pay their dues by March 3 to collect five kisses from him! (The milk chocolate kind:)

Vice President-Education Jim Adams reminded us to pay attention to Parliamentary Procedures by becoming familiar with “Roberts Rules of Order” www.rulesonline.com . When you notice an error in the meeting that you are sure of, and feel the correction of the error will improve the meeting, feel free to say “Point of Order” and state the correction.

Please refer to the Meeting Assignments Tracker and Syllabus Tracker to keep up with your meeting assignments. A copy is included as an attachment to these minutes. Contact James Adams, Vice President-Education for more info.

Please consider what you would like to get out of the Toastmasters Mentor Program and share these thoughts with President Dvija Malovic and Vice President-Education Jim Adams. The Mentor Program is in the planning phase.

Congratulate Toastmaster Earl White for leading the meeting with the theme “Presidents Day.”

March 3, Regular Meeting, TMoD will be Lilnell Small Storm

March 10, Regular Meeting, TMoD will be James Adams

Remember that you can always be on the “Hotseat” for last minute changes.

Things change often so when you are ready to give your speech let the TM of the Day know even if you aren’t “scheduled.” We can almost always fit you in!

Why not work on your leadership and speech awards simultaneously? Don’t forget to bring in your Speaker and Leadership manuals.

You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics master, Timer and many of the other duties. Right after the Meeting or during the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in your leadership book.
