2. Membership Drive – VP Membership Andrea Clark encourages you to bring a
friend, co-worker, employee With you to the meeting. The more you bring,
you could earn a leadership
book!

3. President Bert Romero asks us to consider whether you would like to
celebrate the end of the year with
A. Dinner at a restaurant during non club-time after work, the club would
contribute $5 per member.
B. Holiday meeting during the last meeting of the year December 16, where
we would have just table topics and there would be an exchange of gifts for
whoever would like to participate. This is the perfect regifting place. We
have done this in the past and everyone has fun. Usually, we invite past
Helmsmen as a type of reunion as well.
C. Some combination of the above or other suggestion. Remember this club
belongs to the members not to the club officers so your input is needed!

Please let Bert know what you’d like to do.

4. District 27 Conference: Friday, November 12, and Saturday, November 13,
part and full day of conference and goodies including the District 27
Humorous Speech and Table Topics Contests.

Speaking And the District 27 Table Topics Contest.

6. Reminder, please be courteous to our TM of the Day and let him/her
Know how you can help or that you won’t be able to make it. Great Helmsmen
say “YES!”

7. Duty Schedule sign up and how it works. We have a spreadsheet that goes
around at the meeting to indicate what role you would like to perform at
each meeting. The schedule goes out 4-8 weeks. Most importantly, we’d like
you to let us know when you can give your next speech. Help us plan and
schedule our upcoming meetings. New members join and we need to incorporate
them into the schedule. As you can see, flexibility is the norm.

8. Things change often so when you are ready to give your speech let the
TM of the Day know even if you aren’t “scheduled.” We can probably fit you
in.

9. Mentors and Mentees – Let us know who you would like to be mentored by
or be a mentor to. The TM education program and meetings have a lot to
learn from and sometimes we need help with a speech, understanding the TM
education program or have questions about how club meetings are run….so
let us know.

10. Why not work on your leadership and speech awards simultaneously?
Don’t
forget to bring in your Speaker and Leadership manuals.

You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics
master, Timer and many of the other duties. Right after the meeting or
during the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small
evaluation in your leadership book.

11.********** Coming up soon in November/December : We elect officers :
President,
VP-Education, VP-Membership, VP-Public Relations, Secretary, Treasurer and
Sergeant at Arms semiannually. Free training and book are provided.
These are ways for you to get leadership credit toward your leadership
awards. Earl White as Immediate Past President heads up the Nominating
Committee.

Remember – Great Helmsmen say “YES!”

You can do it — President
You can do it — Vice President Education
You can do it — Vice President Membership
