Subject: Helmsmen TM Meeting 2532 Notes

The Club level International Speech and Evaluation Contests were held today. Our Contestmaster today was Kim Humes and our Chief Judge was Carl Sabath. Our Timer was Mike Santivasci. There were many judges (Sheila Lane, Nathalie Carey, Jay McColgan, Mike Santivasci, Terry Bartholomew, Kim Humes) and we appreciate your input in picking our best folks to go forward.

Terry Bartholomew, DTM will be the 2010 Helmsmen Toastmasters International Speech contestant to go forward to the Area A1 Contest on March 25 at which time he will compete with his speech “Living the Good Life”! Congratulations Terry!

Congratulations Andrea Clark, for coming in 1st place for the 2010 Helmsmen Toastmasters Evaluation contest!
Andrea will be on Military leave during the Area A1 contest
but fortunately 2nd place winner Earl White will be the Helmsmen TM
representative to the Area A1 Evaluation Contest. Congratulations Andrea (and Earl and Bert!)

Congratulate our participants, Terry, Andrea, Earl and Bert Romero for
stepping up and competing!

Nathalie Carey became our newest Helmsmen Toastmaster! Congratulations!

2nd Time guest – Joseph “Jay” McColgan returned and will be filling out his
application shortly!

Business from President Earl White.

1. Next week, Thursday March 18. We’ll be in Room
B-9 again. Terry Bartholomew will be our Toastmaster of the Day. Please
Contact him and ask how you can help.

The Area A1 Contest will be held in Crystal City on March 25.

2. March is Dues Month

Thank you everyone who has been contacted and especially those who have
already paid!
Our treasurer, Tiffany Daniel, appreciates it so much!

Renewing Members pay $36 in March for April through September. If you can’t
attend the meeting,
You can contact Kim and arrange to deliver your payment to her.

Guests, that have attended our meeting, we hope you will decide (and DARE
YOU) to join our ranks and fill out an application to get started in the TM
Educational Program. New Members pay $62 for March-September.

Questions about membership or about the TM Educational Program, ask Carl or Kim.

3. Duty Schedule sign up. We have a spreadsheet that goes around at the meeting to indicate what role you would like to perform at each meeting. Most importantly, we’d like to DARE you to let us know when you can give your next speech. Help us plan and schedule our upcoming meetings.

4. Don’t forget to bring in your Leadership manual. You can get, DARE I
say, credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, Table Topics
master, Timer and many of the other duties. Right after the meeting or
during the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small
evaluation in your leadership book.
