2009-12-17 Helmsmen Toastmasters Meeting 2523 Notes

December 17, 2009

Congratulations on another wonderful meeting.

We had 2 guests Andrea Clark and Derrick Ingle. So glad you came today!

Congratulate Andrea on being our newest member!

Our theme was “Remembering” led by TM Bert Romero

Table topics were led by Terry Bartholomew.

Kim Humes provided the Word of the Day which was PROFUSE.

Nino Dobrovic gave his second speech today on healthcare reform from a
doctor’s perspective.
Thanks Kim Humes for giving Nino’s evaluation!

Best Table Topics speaker went to Kim Humes!

Thank you Earl White for providing Timer Remarks, Andrea Clark for being the
eagle listener — we haven’t been stumped by questions in a while.

Nigel Thalakada provided Grammar/Ah Counter as well as great Opening and
Closing quotes today. Thanks Nigel for being such a devoted member. Nigel
was here on assignment from Ottawa since August and was at the club whenever
he was in town. Unfortunately for us, he will no longer be taking any
trips down here. Thanks Nigel and maybe one of us in the future will come
up and meet you up in Ottawa.

Business:

1. Next meeting is January 7: I will lead the meeting as TMOD.

We hope to induct our new officers

President Earl White

VP-Education Bert Romero

VP- Membership Kim Humes

VP-Public Relations Carl Sabath

Secretary/Treasurer Tiffany Daniel

Sergeant at Arms Terry Bartholomew

We also hope to induct our new members – Nino Dobrovic and Andrea Clark
(Any other past guests that bring their application and check for $38 on
January 7 will also be inducted)
(Big hint for: Katrina, Jackie, Sheila, Derrick, Chavone, Mamie, Torteshia !

3. Note there will be NO meeting held on December 24 or December 31.

4. Plan ahead. Please use this time to think about how often you can give
speeches and put yourself on the calendar to do so. Giving speeches and
performing different roles at the meeting is how we achieve our individual
and club speaking and leadership goals.

Also, don’t forget to bring your leadership book to the meeting. Varying
the roles you perform at meetings will help you earn Competent Leader
credit.

5. Please continue to invite members. The club is more energetic with more
members. More members bring in more ideas!

Happy Speaking!

Carl
