Theme “Holiday Grab Bag” was presented by Toastmaster of the Day, Elizabeth Femrite.

Business:

1. TMOD Schedule:

2. Elizabeth Femrite, club secretary will send list of club officer nominees via email for the next 6-month period will beginning 1 Jan 18 and end 30 Jun 18. Email will be sent under separate cover. We need to have names submitted to Toastmasters International by December 3`1, 2017. Please look for the email.

3. All Executive committee members are required to attend a no-cost TLI (Toastmasters Leadership International) training. The trainings are posted in the minutes. If you have any questions, please contact any of the current committee members.

Congratulations to Forté Ward for leading the meeting with his theme “Transitioning: The Next Chapter”

Business:

1. Nominations for officers for the next Executive Committee (for the 6-month period January 2018 – June 2018) will take place next week. If you are interested in taking the President, VP Education, VP Membership, VP Public Relations, Treasurer and Sergeant at Arms, please let us know.

2. (See Attached) We will host a holiday party for the Thursday 14 Dec 17 meeting from 0730-0845 in room M2 of the Pentagon Conference Center.

Food: breakfast items, such as donuts, bagels, coffee/juice/water.

Elizabeth is your TMoD and Table Topics Master for the event.

For Table Topics we will incorporate a gift-giving/gift-exchange as part of the impromptu speaking session.

Rules for the gift (strictly voluntary and you MAY attend if you don’t bring a gift), $10 value or less and can be a re-gift, unwanted item, trinkets, wacky gift, but generally inexpensive. Some people refer to this gift exchange as a white elephant, or yankee swap.

Guests are welcome to attend!

Why attend: TLI training provides new club officers the opportunity to learn about their roles and for continuing club officers have an opportunity to discuss any problems they may be having. District officers have the opportunity to follow up with performance challenges. Club officers have the opportunity to meet with officers of other clubs and share best practices for improving their own clubs.

Reminder, you may still be on the “Hot Seat” for last minute changes. Things change often, so when you are ready to give your speech, let the TM of the Day know even if you are not scheduled. We can always fit you in! You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, and Table Topics Master, Timer, and many of the other duties. During or immediately following the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in your leadership book.
