President Lillian Wilkinson called the meeting to order.

Carl Sabath provided the opening.

Welcome Guests Sarah Williams and our newest member Christin Crowley.

Business: Carl Sabath reminded the officers to attend training. Lillian Wilkinson reminded everyone of the Spring contest. Helmsmen’s contest will be February 28th.

Presiding Officer introduced Carl Sabath as the TMOD with the theme “It’s Time To….”.

Ricardo Cedeno gave Word of the Day, “acrimonious”, meaning bitter in nature, speech, behavior.
Sarah Williams was our Ah-Counter and Grammarian.
Christin Crowley was our Listener
Andrea Clark was our Ballot Counter.
Kim Winborne was our Timer.
Andrea Clark gave the Tip of the Day: use pregnant pauses when you are talking to someone and make good eye contact.

Andrea Clark was our Table Topics Master. Table Topics Speakers were: Lillian Wilkinson, Carl Sabath, Ricardo Cedeno, Christin Crowley, and Sarah Williams.

Kim Winborne was our Master Evaluator.

Congratulate Andrea Clark and Elizabeth Femrite as our TMoDs/Table Topics Master for the Holiday Party with the theme “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas” !

Business:

1. President stated there were no items of club business and reminded everyone to start preparing for the upcoming area contest on March 30, 2019.

2. No more meetings this year and Andrea Clark confirmed we will hold our first meeting on January 10, 2019 in room 5C247.

3. President Lillian Wilkinson solicited the group for speakers for our first meeting in 2019: Herman Raybon and Jerrick Alexander confirmed and Kelly Clark gave a strong maybe.

Congratulate Elizabeth Femrite our TMoD with her theme “Winter”

Business:

1. President motioned for the new officers from Jan-Jun 19; club members voted and motion was carried out. New officers need training (see attached dates).

2. The Helmsmen Toastmaster club is hosting the Holiday Party next week, December 20, 2018 in room 5C247. Elizabeth Femrite will be the TMOD and provide table topics.

3. Lillian announced an email from Wes regarding the area contest on March 30, 2019.

4. Vice President Public Relations, Andrea Clark is looking into individuals receiving certifications when fulfilling obligations within the club.

5. Carl mentioned a scheduling conflict for January 10th and we’ll need another location for the meeting. Andrea will look into a conference room.

Vice President Public Relations: As vice president public relations, you are responsible for coordinating an active public relations and publicity program. Your job is vital to the growth and success of the club; your efforts help to attract new members.

Secretary: As secretary, you are responsible for keeping clear and accurate records of club business, including membership records and correspondence with Toastmasters International’s World Headquarters and others.

We can always fit you in! You can get credit for being Toastmaster of the Day, Evaluator, and Table Topics Master, Timer, and many of the other duties. During or immediately following the meeting, ask your fellow Toastmaster to provide a small evaluation in your leadership book.
